Actor couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh welcomed their child, a daughter named Dua, in September 2024. In a discussion with Marie Claire, Deepika disclosed that a director made a remark at her when she informed him that she was occupied with Dua and unable to meet him.

Deepika mentioned to the publication that following the arrival of her daughter, she wishes to observe how things ‘evolve’ or function as she typically does. Nevertheless, it appears that not everyone was pleased with her emphasis on family time as she disclosed that she recently informed a director she ‘couldn’t meet him because she needed to be with her daughter’.

She remarked, “He responded by saying, oh, seems like she’s taking motherhood very seriously. I’m unsure if that was intended as a compliment or a slight. What does it imply to take motherhood seriously? Yes, certainly I am! ”

Deepika also mentioned that she and Ranveer are ‘in sync’ regarding parenting and wish to ‘support Dua’s every need’. She expressed that they are indifferent to the criticism they receive for this, adding, “Whether it’s about the films I choose to do…how I prefer to live my life or the things I’m truly passionate about, and beyond that, it doesn’t even matter what anyone else believes. I am a person who has always been able to disregard and just follow my intuition. ”

In February 2024, Deepika and Ranveer revealed that they are anticipating a baby in September. Following her birth, they announced in November that they had named her Dua Padukone Singh. “Dua: signifying a Prayer. Because She is the Answer to our Prayers. Our hearts are filled with Love and Gratitude. Deepika and Ranveer,” they stated.

Future projects

Deepika was recently spotted in the 2024 movies Fighter, Kalki 2898 AD, and Singham Again. She filmed Kalki 2898 AD and Singham Again while expecting. Although she hasn't revealed her next projects, there's buzz that she'll be in Shah Rukh Khan's King and Prabhas' Spirit.
