While the members of the biggest boy band in the world Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS) are fulfilling their mandatory military service in South Korea, their fandom, ARMY, ensures to keep their name trending every day across various social media platforms. As the seven men - Kim Namjoon, Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung, and Jeon Jung-kook - fulfil their service obligations and will be released one by one, ARMY ensures that their relevance, which has only grown, does not diminish even slightly.

Feeling their absence more with each passing day, ARMY has initiated a new online trend called 'Anime vs Real'. In this trend which is taking place on X (formerly known as Twitter), the fandom shares pictures of popular anime characters alongside images of BTS members who resemble those characters the most.

While V and leader RM have the most posts, ARMY has made sure that every member has a matching character. In fact, fans have even paired up some duo anime characters, combining two members. Here are some photos shared by ARMY on X.

Where is BTS?

All seven members of BTS are currently fulfilling their mandatory military service obligations. Despite their service commitments, they have continued to release music through their label, BIGHIT Entertainment. J-Hope recently dropped his album 'Hope On the Street, Vol. 1,' while V's song 'FRI(END)S' soared up the charts, trending worldwide.

Additionally, SUGA's concert film, 'Agust D Tour D-Day - The Movie,' achieved an outstanding second place on the U.S. Box Office charts. It is now set to release in India on April 25 and 27.

As for the military service, Jin and J-Hope are serving as drill instructors at military camp bases, while SUGA is fulfilling his duties as a social service agent following his surgery.

RM is stationed at the 15th Infantry Division, and V has been deployed to the ROK II Corps. Meanwhile, Jimin and Jungkook are reportedly serving in the 5th Infantry Division. The group is anticipated to reunite by June 2025, with Jin and J-Hope scheduled to complete their service this year.
