Crunchyroll hosted an unparalleled anime celebration at the Mumbai Comic Con 2025, taking place on April 12-13, 2025, at the Jio World Convention Centre in BKC. The event captivated attendees with an exhilarating weekend featuring iconic guests, live performances, engaging experiences, and exclusive giveaways. Whether you are a devoted One Piece enthusiast, a dedicated member of the Kaiju No. 8 Defense Force, or simply discovering the anime realm, Crunchyroll’s booth provided continuous excitement throughout the event.

The big moment: Live dubbing by One Piece voice legends 

Among the various attractions at the Comic Con, one of the most memorable highlights of the weekend was the live dubbing session featuring renowned Japanese voice actors Kappei Yamaguchi (Usopp) and Hiroaki Hirata (Sanji) from One Piece. Fans crowded the stage to experience the enchantment as these anime icons animated their characters in real-time. With a mix of behind-the-scenes anecdotes and impromptu in-character exchanges, the atmosphere was charged with excitement. This session provided anime enthusiasts with a unique behind-the-mic experience that is sure to become a cherished memory for many.

Nonstop fun at the Crunchyroll booth

Although the dubbing session was the main attraction, it was not the sole offering of the booth. Participants were immersed in a comprehensive Egghead Island-themed One Piece Lab, featuring advanced props and photo opportunities that allowed fans to indulge in their Vegapunk fantasies. Concurrently, fans of Kaiju No. 8 formed pairs to engage in the interactive Find the Core of Kaiju game, competing against the clock for exclusive Defense Force stickers and collector cards. The event was further enlivened by the presence of DJ Kazu, who transformed the convention into an anime rave with five electrifying sets throughout the weekend. Additionally, the Crunchyroll GlamBOT provided fans with a red carpet experience in cinematic slow motion. Fans' knowledge of various anime was also challenged in the Anime Trivia Showdown, where those with expertise were rewarded with limited-edition merchandise, including One Piece crowns, sticker sheets, and Kaiju No. 8 collectibles.
