Ever since Alia Bhatt made her second Met Gala appearance in Sabyasachi saree, the internet cannot stop talking about the look. While some are in awe, the others are dissuading the very look. More recently, netizens are buzzing with how strikingly similar Alia’s look is to that of Deepika Padukone’s from the past.

Deepika vs Alia

Deepika Padukone was attending an awards show in a saree that was all floral. She paired them up with jhumkas and left her pallu right up to her hand. She wore a plunge blouse with the same.

Alia, on the other hand, did have floral but with beads and ruffles on the border of her saree. One can also observe gold tassels as a part of her saree look. You cannot overlook the long train or even the fact that she had a mini sleeve on the hand where the pallu wasn’t wrapped. Hers was a shimmery padded blouse, and Alia’s accessories included fairly long earrings and maangtika. So, the only similarity between Deepika and Alia Bhatt’s look was the floral design, which was also different, since they were different flowers and unlike Deepika’s, the flower designs on Alia’s saree weren’t in-your-face.

Netizens have also pointed out how both the sarees match that of Katrina Kaif’s wedding saree. If one looks at the floral design on Alia’s saree, that is similar to Katrina Kaif’s wedding saree (in comparison to Deepika Padukone’s), but apart from that, the whole look between Katrina Kaif and Alia were different as well. Katrina, obviously, decked up and wore a gold mirror choker necklace to complete her wedding look.

Alia’s second Met Gala appearance

Alia Bhatt made her Met Gala debut in 2023. The actress donned a Chanel-inspired gown to complete (also with the train). She chose white back then and wore an ivory saree this time around (which the actress says resembles sky and sea). The theme of the event this time around was The Garden of Time and Alia brought her best foot forward. Netizens, however, believe it is not Sabyasachi’s best and he needs to stop copying.
