Actor Alia Bhatt got a lot of love for her role in her recent movie Jigra, but unfortunately, it didn’t attract many viewers and didn’t do well at the box office. In a recent chat with Jay Shetty on his podcast, Alia opened up about the film's performance and shared how it’s motivated her to push herself even more in her future projects.

Alia's thoughts on Jigra

Alia opened up during the chat about her aspirations, sharing, "I’m super passionate about acting, producing, and everything that comes with it. My dreams related to my work just keep evolving. I never really feel settled, and honestly, I love that about my mindset. Last year, I had a film come out that didn’t perform as well as I hoped, but that’s sparked a fresh energy in me to chase new dreams. It’s something that really excites me. So, that’s my professional dream."

Jigra Overview

Jigra was made by Dharma Productions and brought to life by Viacom18 Studios and Eternal Sunshine Productions. Unfortunately, it didn’t do well at the box office when it came out during Dusshera, marking Alia's lowest opening since her second film, Highway, back in 2014.

After the film hit theaters, Divya Khossla Kumar accused Alia of playing with the box office figures for Jigra. She claimed that Alia bought tickets for her own movie and then reported a "fake collection" to mislead the audience.

The film also featured Vedang Raina and Manoj Pahwa. Directed by Vasan Bala, it tells the story of a dedicated sister (Alia) who goes on a tough journey to save her brother (Vedang).

Next up, Alia will star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love and War alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
