Kabir Khan is regarded as one of the leading filmmakers in the industry, having directed notable films such as Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Ek Tha Tiger, and Chandu Champion, among others. Recently, it has been reported that he is in discussions for a new project featuring Vicky Kaushal, which may also mark Vicky's first on-screen collaboration with his wife, Katrina Kaif. In a recent interview, the director addressed these rumors.

Is Vicky Kaushal set to star in Kabir Khan's upcoming film? 

During an interview, Kabir Khan expressed his enthusiasm for the possibility of working with Vicky Kaushal, emphasizing that their relationship extends beyond mere professional ties. 

“Vicky is one of the finest actors we have. He feels like family to me. I share a close bond with both Vicky and Katrina. Therefore, I would be delighted to collaborate with him. Ultimately, as directors and actors, we often exchange ideas. However, there is nothing definitive at this moment that I can confirm regarding a project together. Nonetheless, I have been in conversation with him,” he stated.

Kabir Khan on collaborating with Kartik Aaryan

Kabir directed Kartik Aaryan in the film Chandu Champion. He disclosed that he is currently in discussions with both Salman Khan and Kartik Aaryan regarding additional projects. He mentioned that he has also been in communication with Salman.

"Whenever I meet with actors, we engage in brainstorming sessions. I also collaborate with Kartik in this regard. I refer to this period as the development phase. There are two or three concepts that I find particularly exciting. I have chosen to take a break of six to seven months before embarking on a new production," he stated.

My Melbourne

In the meantime, the film My Melbourne, showcasing the collaborative talents of four renowned Indian directors—Kabir Khan, Imtiaz Ali, Rima Das, and Onir—will be released in Indian cinemas on March 14, 2025. This film is an anthology comprising four narratives set against the backdrop of Melbourne.

One of the segments, titled Setara and directed by Kabir Khan, tells the true story of an Afghan girl who fled the Taliban at the age of 15 to start anew in Melbourne. Despite facing familial challenges and past traumas, she found a sense of belonging and resilience through her passion for cricket.
