Aamir Khan Productions Switches to Indian Flag Amid Boycott Demands; Netizens Label It ‘Damage Control’

Aamir Khan's production company, Aamir Khan Productions, attracted notice by switching up its profile picture on social media. At one time, the company's social media profile pictures served as the official emblem. But in the midst of calls for a boycott after the trailer for Sitaare Zameen Par was just released, the production company seems to have made its position clear.
The display photo for Aamir Khan Productions is updated
Many followers observed on Friday that the display image on social media for Aamir's production company was no longer its logo but a picture of the tiranga. The shift occurred across all of its social media channels, such as Facebook, Instagram, and X (previously Twitter). The biography reads, "yahaan alag andaaz hai" (The style is different here), which is all that seems to have been modified as promotion for their forthcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par.

The internet refers to it as 'damage control'
As the production company altered its display image, fans speculated as to the cause, with some referring to it as "damage control" in the face of calls for a boycott. Many posts on the production company's social media sites call for a boycott under the assumption that Aamir has remained silent about the Pahalgam assault and Operation Sindoor.
"Lol, he's being boycotted online, so he obviously did it to mitigate the harm," one Redditor said. "They are trying to do damage control in vain; doing so won't cause the boycotters to give them up," said another. (Why are they attempting to damage control when it's unlikely that those who want to boycott will change their minds?) Some have even pledged to "boycott" movies made by the studio.
However, others reminded readers that Aamir Khan and Aamir Khan Productions did address the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor. “Why are people conveniently ignoring that this same account had posted in support of India and the armed forces’ mission?” one fan wrote. And didn't wait a day or two before releasing it to the public." "Having said that, Aamir's PH account published stories in support of the army the same day the operation was carried out. So I don't know why people are targeting him so much; he hasn't been silent," added another.
At an ABP-organized event earlier this month, Aamir also said, "Leave it to PM Narendra Modi to decide the course of action after the Pahalgam attack. India wants to avenge the Pahalgam deaths. I trust PM Modi will make a decision that is in the nation’s best interest.”
