Manasi Sinha – a popular actress in Bengali cinema and television – has been duped at Rs 26 lakh by signing an autograph. The actress who will debut as a director with Eta Amader Golpo with Saswata Chatterjee explained how she was cheated after her autograph was forged.

Actors frequently give autographs, but Manasi never thought that it would cost her lakhs of rupees. Some days back, a person called Dipankar accused her of embezzlement of Rs 26 lakhs. But Manasi kept mum. Now, with legal help, Manasi made the alleged fraudster arrested.

The issue took place with the making of Manasi’s directorial venture Eta Amader Golpo. The film will be released on April 26. In 2020, while the film was being made, some fraudsters took her autograph and tried to involve the actress in a scam. Her signature was faked which was legally proved recently.

Recently, Manasi cleared everything in a press conference where she was accompanied by producer Subhankar Mitra and advocate Atanu Chatterjee. She said that during the start of the shooting, she was contacted by a freelancer through the producer. That person faked her autograph and accused Manasi of embezzlement. The freelancer later claimed himself to be the producer and stopped the remuneration of the film's cast and crew. He also tried incessantly to hinder the shooting. Manasi did not talk about it at that time.

Manasi sought legal help and lodged an FIR in the police station with the proof. The police investigated and arrested the person on Tuesday for cheating Manasi Sinha and tarnishing her reputation.
