8 days ago | 5 Views
Skoda Auto India has introduced the Kylaq SUV as its initial entry into the sub-compact segment in November 2024. While the starting price for the Kylaq was set at ₹7. 89 lakh and rose to ₹14. 40 lakh, the Czech automaker has recently updated the price list for the sub-compact SUV. With this price amendment, the Kylaq has become both more expensive and more affordable simultaneously.
As the most economical model in the Skoda India range, the Kylaq initially had a starting price of ₹7. 89 lakh. However, after the recent price update, the range now begins at ₹8. 25 lakh. This adjustment has increased the starting price of the entry-level Kylaq by nearly ₹35,000 in comparison to before. The Skoda Kylaq competes with contenders like Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Tata Nexon. The segment also features popular SUVs such as Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Mahindra XUV 3XO, which is the most affordable among them. Here’s how the Kylaq, considering its revised pricing, stacks up against the competitors.
Skoda Kylaq vs Brezza, Nexon, Venue, Sonet, Syros and XUV 3XO: Price comparison
The Skoda Kylaq Classic, which serves as the base model of the Skoda SUV, is now priced at ₹8. 25 lakh. In addition, the entry-level variant for the automatic transmission, known as the Signature, now carries a tag of ₹10. 95 lakh, an increase from the earlier ₹10. 59 lakh. With the recent price adjustment, the Kylaq has transitioned from being one of the most affordable sub-compact SUVs to becoming one of the most expensive at its starting price. The base price of the Kylaq now surpasses only that of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and the Kia Syros.
At the upper end, it ranks among the most economical sub-compact SUVs, only exceeding the Hyundai Venue, which reaches a maximum price of ₹13. 50 lakh, ex-showroom.
