Quiet start for the markets around 12,850 levels

A tentative start for the markets on Wednesday as global markets paused after a record rally on Wall Street. The Nifty nonetheless started off around the 12,850 mark as the Sensex traded around 43,950 levels as the broader markets were quiet in trade. Realty and PSU Banks gained while FMCG and FMCG indices were in the red. Lakshmi Vilas Bank cracked 20% on news of Singapore’s DBS infusing Rs 2,500 crore into DBS Bank India for the proposed merger LVB which was put under a moratorium on Tuesday. Adani Gas, SpiceJet, Adani Ports, Mahindra CIE were active in trade.
